Corten Steel

Corten steel, also called weathered steel, is a group of steel alloys that are mainly used for outdoor building works. It is at least 6 times more resistant to corrosion and 2 times more resistant to tensile strength compared to traditional steels.

This group of alloys are obtained from copper, chrome and phosphorus. Corten steels have a patina on the surface for protection and to prevent corrosion to spread and damage the metal. They have been designed to eradicate the need for painting since they slowly develop a rusted appearance after being exposed to weather.

Our customers have the option to choose corten steel for their bespoke architectural glazing products. We use SeccoSistemi’scorten steel profiles to manufacture our products. The oxidization process of SeccoSistemi in manufacturing corten steel allows to obtain desired finish and leaves a chromatic effect on the profiles.
